About Us

Nick Surdis, Owner and Operator

I am fully licensed with the State of Massachusetts and insured. We are family owned and operated and since we own all of our equipment outright and keep our overhead low - we are able to offer you very reasonable pricing as well as providing high quality work. We are a small local business with no "salespeople" - I come out to do your estimate, and it's my son and I who will do your work.

We Communicate with our Clients

Unlike many other large contractors who are too busy for small jobs, I will actually call you back, show up when promised, and work with you on any land project regardless of size. We make sure to communicate with our clients both before and during the project, so you never feel "left out of the loop" or "not knowing whats going on" as we pride ourselves on our reputation, with a 5-star rating on both Google and Facebook.

Specializing in Stump Removal, Laser Grading, Loam installation, and Gravel Road & Driveway restoration & repair.

our project is on the schedule... now what?

Scheduling

Typically we are 4-6 weeks out from project approval to install unless we agreed on a different date. The Weather can and does affect our installs tremendously, it is not because we are unwilling to work in the rain, but rather when we work in the rain it causes excessive collateral damage to yards and ruts with mud. Also - although it may not rain on your projected install date, if we have several days of rain the week prior, it can push all our following projects out as well.

When we have a structure install deadline, we will typically look to schedule our site work 1-2 weeks prior to any structure install. In all of our years of doing site work for structures, we have not yet missed a deadline - we take them very seriously.

Even during the last 7 days prior to install, weather can and does throw us curves. Sometimes if we plan to be on-site first thing in am, it can be pushed out. I will always do my best to keep you informed via call, text, or email - whichever is preferred. We work with very heavy machinery and sometimes things break, hoses blow, or trailer tires decide to go flat.

Communications

Between project approval, and approximately 2-3 weeks before site work, my outbound communications to you may go dark as we are focused each day on the project we are completing - but know that I am always available to you via Call, Text, or email if you have any questions, at any time between now and then.

Approximately 2-3 weeks before install date, I will call, text, or email you to let you know a tentative install date. Again, this is somewhat fluid based upon upcoming weather - but by that time we tend to have a better picture of scheduling.

The week prior to your site work (about 7 days out) I will typically reach back out to confirm exact timing with you. In some cases we will schedule a pre-start walk thru if there are some loose ends or details to review, or if you won't be home on the day of our site work.

Payment

  •  I do not take any deposit up-front because I do not want, nor need to hold your money prior to our work.
  • If it is a multi-day project, typically I will collect payment for materials the day we arrive on site.
  • If it is a single day project, I will just take payment upon completion that day. All I ask is please arrange for timely payment upon completion in the form of cash or check.

Other Helpful Info

I welcome and enjoy client interaction during our work day to make sure the project is progressing as planned. Especially when large-scale grading is involved, because grading is very "individualistic" and each homeowner can have a different vision of the exact grade they want as final product. I'd rather know at the end of each day if we need to make a tweak, rather than waiting until the end of the project to go back and change something.
